SIHH 2014: Lange & Söhne, the wristshots

Jan 20, 2014,15:56 PM

I already posted these pictures in HOME forum but it is important to do it in the Lange Forum.

My first appointment at the SIHH was dedicated to Lange.

I will obviously come back with a detail report. But please enjoy the wristshots I took today.

The key piece was the Richard Lange PC Terraluna:

And the surprising caseback:

As you know, the Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase was presented during the pre-SIHH in Glashütte:

The 1815 is now available with a smaller case which has a similar shape to the 1815 up & down:

Let's compare with my 1815 36mm:

Two existing watches are now available in PG like the Lange 1 PC Tourbillon:

And the Zeitwerk Acoustic:

Another important watch was the 1815 Tourbillon. Even if it is very nicely made, I'm less seduced by this one maybe because it is "too obvious" when it comes to design an 1815 with a Tourbillon.

But the Tourbillon by itself is stunning:

Obviously, a detailed report will come back later.

Fx

The Richard Lange PC Terraluna has an amazingly beautiful back, very creative, different, really charming and enchanting, I really love that sky, the stars and the way the moon moves around the Earth and reveals itself in all its phases. Brilliant! Lange ...

Thank you dear Fx!

As usual, your photos are fantastic! Love all of them. Makes me less upset I couldn't make it to SIHH since I can see these wonder pictures from you. :) The Richard Lange PC Terraluna is indeed a very special watch but I have to see it in the metal for th...

Thanks for the wrist shot...

...I found the latest Richard Lange PC Terraluna did not attract me at the first glance due to too-complicated dial... in turn, 1815 and first generation Richard Lange are more eye-catching.

Wonderful photos, Fx! A question and a comment...

QUESTION: Can you say more about the tourbillon on the 1815 Tourbillon being "too obvious"? Do you mean that the tourbillon aperture is too large? COMMENT: Your photo of the new 1815 next to your old 1815 was VERY helpful! I'm sure I'm not the only longti...

Thank you for your "on the ground" wrist shot report!

As always, it is very helpful to have the actual wrist shots! Terraluna - umnnnn.... Too bad as it is too big... Not sure until I see it in the fresh. 1815 Tourbillon - I concur.... A bit "turn-off" as to "why put tourbillon on the "original" dial 1815 no...

The Terraluna is quite impressive.

1815 tourbi is my favorite here

It would have been a perfect Lange if it would have been 38,5 mm or even 37,5 but still: a dream Lange. The RL PC Terraluna is a cool, if not a bit messy on the dial, watch with the outstanding technology from the 31days. The size and height of it are typ...

I'd love to see the RL in a smaller case (like the 1815).

Maybe 39.5 mm. Make sense? ...

Thank you FX for the pictures ! [nt]

Not impressed at all, sadly... Once again.

Ok, the Terraluna is the key piece, this year, but ly God, this dial is too busy! The back is more interesting, IMO. Well, nothing for me, once again, this year... Best, Nicolas

A nice effort..

but nothing for me this year : 1815 new size why not,but it will get lost in the many variants…your original is the one. 1815 tourby, mmmmm,no c mon,too "obvious" as you said. Terra Luna, the same comments as the L1 pc,or the RL plm tourbillon, appreciate t...
