2014: my personal Lange year

Dec 30, 2014,13:21 PM

2014 was a difficult year for me but thanks to brands like Cartier or Lange, I had some sunshine when I needed it the most. It is maybe the reason why watches are not objects like others. We wear them, they are with us during the good and bad times and they remind us that the flow of time never stops... and so that we need to enjoy life! It is not only a story of watches, it is also a matter of personal relationships with the people of the brands, with friends and be sure that I appreciated a lot all these precious moments.

So 2014 was  a very busy Lange year for me and I would like to propose you a kind of wrap-up!

2014 started with an excellent rhythm since I could write a review of the Saxonia Outsize Date:

It is very funny to consider this watch now. It was a kind of presages of what would be the redesign of the Saxonia collection unveiled a few weeks ago: the more present indexes, the Langematik touch like the scale inside the subdial... The circle is complete!

January is the month of the SIHH. This year was under the sign of the Moon with the Grand Lange One Moonphase and of course the Richard Lange Terraluna:

And during the SIHH I had my two seconds of glory... since I was on the official pics of the Salon... It's pure logic, I slept there every night! smile What a pleasure to be pictured with Anthony, the MAN!

In March, the Lange One Tourbillon Handwerkskunst knocked at the door of the Paris boutique. To be honest with you, it is not my fav Lange because I much prefer a more sober decoration style. But what an impressive watch!

In April, I could meet two WG Zeitwerk at the same time at the Paris boutique, a quite rare encounter!

And during the same month, I could test the sound lab to hear the ticking of the movements (with Sunny, the manager of the boutique):

In June, the 2014 collection landed on Paris! A great opportunity for all Lange fans to have a closer look on this collection and especially on the Terraluna:

Or the 1815 Tourbillon:

In July, just before the Summer break, I had the privilege to wear during a few days the 1815 Tourbillon. So I decided to come back to my hometown with it!

What a superb feeling! Do you know what I preferred to do with this watch? It was to pull the crown and to feel the stop tourbillon and zero reset work at the same time!

I also prepared the Germany & Argentina World Cup final!

Just after the Summer holidays, I could shoot a her and his watches picture!

A good way to go back to work!

I needed a new energy to face the last months of the year! And I couldn't resist... to buy a 4th Lange watch! A Grand Lange One Luminous!

I love this watch, so Lange and so different from what they usually propose at the same time!

I don't need to mention that this watch deserves each penny spent.

Actually, there was another reason why I bought this watch. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the rebirth of the brand, I could only wear a Lange One!

I had the chance, the big privilege to be invited by Lange in Dresden in October to attend the celebration of the 20th Anniversary. It was a very moving event with the presence of some actors of the first days of the company. This event will always stay in my memory!

And the celebration watch was at the level of my expectations, I mean in terms of beauty and craftsmanship:

In November, Lange was present at the Salon Belles Montres:

Resistance is futile! I had to put again the Grand Lange One Moonphase on the wrist!

In December, I proposed you a detailed review of one of the Watches & Wonders novelties, the Langematik Perpetual WG and black dial:

A true beauty.

I ended the year with my faithful 1815 chronograph, in my hometown:

As you can see it, Lange accompanied me during the full year and the support of the team was very helpful for me. When I browsed again the Lange forum to prepare this post, I was happy to see the evidence that the number of topics and the participation of the community were significant. We discussed a lot, we agreed on some topics, we disagreed on others but it was a "live wire" forum, the place to share our passion for the Manufacture in Saxony. So thanks a lot to everybody for making this place so comfortable and so animated!

2015 will start at full throttle with the upcoming SIHH so stay tuned!
