A. Lange & Audi Event

Jun 02, 2011,12:58 PM

Dear Collectors/Purists, Iam not very good at writing reports or rather it is first from my side. A Lange & Sohne & Audi organized a racetrack event combined with the presentation of the new SIHH collection of the beautiful L& S time pieces. Few collectors were invited and in this event and it was a showcase of wonderful new developments of the brand and off course the feel & touch of the factory/museum pieces of these wonderful timepieces. Fantastic event put up by the A Lange & Sohne team in Dubai (Richemont Group) . The event lasted 5-6 hours in which we had the pleasure of listening to the brand presentation and followed by a track event at the Autodrome Dubai Racetrack on which we had the opportunity to race the new Audi R8 V10 models with professional Audi Raceteam trainers and professional drivers. We ended up with fantastic gifts from A Lange & Sohne and a memorable eve which i will remember for a long time. Attached are some photos of the event....hope you all will like it! Great Job A. Lange & Sohne!!

Guten tag, And thanks for bringing this event to us via photos! It is always a pleasure to see Lange, the most perfectionist watch marque in the world, collaborate with Audi, IMHO the most perfectionist auto marque in the world, team up for such an event....

Uh oh, now it's an Audi...

What about Audis do you like so much Stephen? Very curious. I see you in a nice BLUE BMW. I also remember you were keen about the E-Coupe in blue as well.

That's funny, Audi to me is

a neither/nor type of brand... it is neither a BMW, nor a Mercedes... I find this team-up a little odd, actually... Lange is more of a Porsche, no? Lange is so much more of an archetypal brand than Audi... hmmmmm... This message has been edited by Mostel ...

Thanks a lot for the report!

First of all, your report is great, I am sure that it will be the first of a long series. It seems that these combined events occur more and more often. For me the connection between cars and watches are not so obvious but for the attendees, it is always ...

But it is obvious that...

.... you are a very good photographer. Nice pics and I can feel the excitement on the circuit. Thank you very much indeed for the report. Great pics, and kudos to ALS team - I would LOVE that special polo shirt.... Ken

Thanks for this.

2 brands I like and own coming together! I actually think its quite a good pairing although Audi seems to be loosing its way a bit in terms of overflooding of models and trying to be everything to everyone. Maybe Lange should just so a tie-up with the Aud...

an intriguing collaboration! [nt]

Thank you for the wonderful photos of this cool event! It is indeed an interesting event, however (perhaps this makes it even more interesting), I fail to see the brand symmetries between Lange and Audi, other than the fact they're both German brands. Str...

Audi and ALS seems to fit together

The tag line of Truth in Engineering seems to work for both as does tradition and ingenuity. The Audi S4 and a Richard Lange, to me, help define current best practice for high performance design and real world execution. Perhaps not the final word in ever...

I just think there are other German brands with greater symmetries...

Every one of the luxury German brands would have something that would bond at the 98th percentile. But I think there are other automotive brands that may have greater than 98%. It's obvious that I'm not getting the big picture, but I am really curious and...
