Vintage like 5402?

RO's case is hard to reshape, a special tool is needed as well as an experienced person, so I'd go to an AP boutique asking them to service the watch.
It means taking the watch to Swiss

Service center for my vintage AP? Recommendations?

Hi, I want to service and refinish my RO, has anyone tried ABC watchwerk in Los Angeles before or other third party service center? I have tried ABC for my vintage Rolexes an they were great. I tried my Hong Kong AD for service quotation but the quotation...

4K seems like a lot for service

Unless your watch is complicated like a perpetual or minute repeater. I've had no good luck with service centers here in the US. Not to say they are all bad, just my experience. I would contact the manufacture directly and look into sending it yourself. F...

I am from Los Angeles, and I have had many horrible service experiences.

So now, I only use factory service. For companies that no longer exist, I use Manuel Yazijian. AP has a factory service center is the US, and many here have had good experiences recently. I would recommend that you go that route and not risk ruining or da...

Be careful. Ask AP if they have the original dial, crown, and so on.

If you have a service dial, it won't be the same than the original dial. Hands will be luminova, not tritium. The crown will be a service one, signed AP, and so on... Yes, it is expensive, I confirm. 4 K USD seems to be the price. An expensive price... Be...

What is the reference or model of your RO? I think it could help to understand the estimate amount. Best wishes Alkiro

It is a 5402

5402

Is it an A, B, C or other series? Do you have/want to polish the case? Is it just a "standard" service (change oil, grease...) and you don't want anything else? Do the dial and hands are ok (no piece of dirt...)

With all the answers to these questions, it would be easier to understand why the quote is so expensive. Best wishes Alkiro

HI Alkiro...

Mine is a B series but the watch is completely beat up and movement is worn as well. I am amazed it survived. The barrel is worn and in need to be replaced. The service itself is about $1500 , which does not include a complete barrel M0 345 +/-15 & Fourni...

Thanks to your description it seems that $4000 is coherent for a such timepiece and what it requires.

May be the best way could be to go through AP directly (if possible of course), specify precisely what you want or not and wait for a quote. Good luck Best wishes Alkiro

Try AP service centre in London

with the current exchange rate it will probably work out about £500!

It depends on how prices are set.

Some companies have prices set in local currency, others peg the prices to home currency (usually CHF).
