Excellent collection.

Being a long time admirer of 5140 and its advanced version 5550, I know it is hard to get good realistic images. Here are some shots that I like very much.

Five shades of Patek

 By: pfang56 : October 27th, 2018-00:33
Hi all Wanted to share this photo to demonstrate the diversity of colours of some models in the Patek spectrum - from white, to grey, to blue, to black/brown, and to black. Out of these colours it seems the hardest to show the white really well with so ma...

Wow, that's a true collector of Patek Philippe!

Variety and not just the usual bandwagon that hunts every sports watch from them!

Many thanks for the note...

 By: pfang56 : October 27th, 2018-06:02
I am trying to diversify a bit - and find that Patek does offer an option for every mood...and while it is tempting to get another Nauti or Aquanaut I just donโ€™t find the need and would rather go for a different model altogether. Cheers Peter

For sure you have an impressive array of Patek watches and chromatic differences. I would love to show you differences in blue hues, from Patek, but there are chances it won't happen.

As the 5070P is an impossible target. And I am still running after a 5100 G, the Manta 10 Days. But who knows, maybe one day! Your collection is top. May you go deeper into the Patek Universe! Best, Nicolas

Maybe one day!

Many thanks for the kind words! I think Patek does an outstanding job with blue - I do like the 5740 and the 5170P - and maybe as I donโ€™t have a Chrono maybe the 5170P is in the radar Cheers, Peter

Great collection.

Like the different styles and complications each watch represents. Which one gets the most wrist time and which one does not?

Hmm...

 By: pfang56 : October 27th, 2018-06:13
These days it has been the Aquanaut as I have been traveling a lot and have been using its super smooth dual time function. I also like the fact - so far - itโ€™s the understated piece that usually goes unnoticed and can be worn in the gym. I also enjoy the...

Cool picture !

It is very difficult to shoot so many watches at the same time IMO but I like yours a lot

Thanks much JC

At this point using the IPhone can still take some pretty good pictures but certainly not as nice as a normal DSLR. Cheers Peter

Right Choice Peter !

Love to see all fascinating classic, sports & complications clubbed together in your nice collection. Enjoy to fullest & post more tempting shots. Cheers ! Gautam

Thanks Gautam!

I think Patek has done a great job expanding their sport models. I was an AP collector before but I think Patek really has stepped up and put forth some very elegant but sporty pieces. That being said - Patek does dressy even better and I feel fortunate t...

that is a perfect 5 !

 By: mahesh : October 27th, 2018-02:23
you've a very rounded collection - i love the nautius 5712 !! Best, mahesh.,

Really kind words!

 By: pfang56 : October 27th, 2018-06:21
I do feel like I have a pretty stable set of 5 today. I get a sense I am missing a classic Chrono, a PCC, and of course a Calatrava. One step at a time! The Nautilus has been a real favorite especially because of the exquisite construction of the case and...

May the force be with you Peter !

 By: mahesh : October 27th, 2018-09:47
guess Calatrava would definitely add a feather to your 5. PCC is an epitome equally !! Godspeed. Best, mahesh.,

Very impressive collection.

My contribution is the Patek 5980 with the blue gray color dial. Thank you for sharing. ...

Thanks Bill

 By: pfang56 : October 27th, 2018-06:26
I love that 5980 and before I purchased the 5712 from a window display I passed on a 5980 in the display case! Boy those were the days... The Nautilus is an excellent sporty collection and I think in many cases, is unsurpassed in its own diversity without...

This is THE shot of the 5980, Bill. Really so beautiful..

Would love to hear from others what should be a next piece! Cheers, Peter

For a next piece, I'd probably go with:

 By: FabR : October 27th, 2018-08:28
1) a grand complication (a PCC, as you say, would be hard to beat); or 2) a rare handcraft (e.g., 5089 or 5177). You'd certainly qualify to apply for it, and that would also give you the Calatrava "for free"!

Great idea...a 3970P is also interesting...

You have almost everything there. Surprisingly we have followed very parallel paths, although you have taken it a couple of steps ahead to a much higher level. Well done! Nice pictures, I really like the shades of the dial of the 5140. By the way, which i...

Thanks for the note!

Good minds think alike. I think to balance the collection in metals and also in model perhaps a 5170P or a 3970P. I will wait for the next budget cycle Cheers, Peter

Spectacular group!

 By: keks : October 27th, 2018-08:26
A 5170P would be perfect... manual chrono and another P... the. You have 2 of each white metals... thanks for sharing!

Wow, I do think the 5170P is really special...

 By: pfang56 : October 27th, 2018-08:52
You are getting me thinking. I totally missed that I had doubles of all white metals except for a P...thanks for the unique observation, Cheers Peter

Thanks much!

Wow so humbled by the comments...here is another view...

Thanks all for your wonderful comments - truly am humbled and honored to participate in this community. I also took a chance to take a less photogenic picture of the side profiles of each - to show the thinness of the cases. Below the order from thinnest ...

And really like your Advanced Research perpetual. On the dial especially - something about leaf hands and gold indices make that special. Also the fact that it is an AR of course makes it wonderful. Cheers Peter

This is perhaps the most balanced modern Patek collection I have ever seen! In each of the 5 watches you have a different complication.

 By: patekova : October 28th, 2018-04:21
You also have representatives of the iconic Nautilus and Aquanaut lines. You have steel, white gold and platinum. You have pretty much all the complications below the perpetual chronograph level. And all of this in just 5 watches! Perhaps some day a perpe...

Yes PCC maybe In the future?

 By: pfang56 : October 28th, 2018-16:22
A real grail watch for me would be the 3970 - there is something really special about those push button pushers! While I previously looked at and considered multiple 5270 models, I still slightly prefer the lemania movement and the original dials. Maybe o...

While I havenโ€™t seen salmon dials in the flesh, I hope to see one in the future. More diversity is more better! Peter

Four of my MUST HAVES are here in this photo!
