What makes a Thunderbird a bird of thunder?

Hello

I would really like to benefit from your knowledge and find out what sets a part a model designated as "Thunderbird" from one which isn't such. I know the current Turn-O-Graph has a TB model, and don't know if other current lines have them.

So, experts, what's in a name?

is a Datejust with an engraved rotating bezel. The first TB was ref. 6309, then 1625, etc... There are several case, dials and hands variations. (scan by CYR)...

I love to get insightful answers...

Thanks. BTW - does the current TOG have a TB model and a non TB model, or all of them TB's because they have rotating bezels? I'm asking because I recently found that there are TOG's with alternating color dates (black/red), and didn't know whether or not...

There is only one version of the current TOG

and it has a rotating bezel. There are "roulette" (red/black) date wheels on lots of Rolex models, such as the vintage GMT's and Datjust. Cheers Jeff
