Complete Coverage of A. Lange & Söhne Watches & Wonders Hong Kong 2013

Sep 29, 2013,10:02 AM

Here is my comprehensive report of Lange at W & W in HK.

The first Aisa Haute Horlogerie Exhibition.  Although Japan is excluded from the subject countries, considering the difference of the distance from Geneve, why not?  Lange Uhren and Lange Japan kindly issued pass to the Japanese Lange owners and enjoyed the show.

Held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Entrance: invitation only and needs pass, just like SIHH.

Inside.

Lange booth

And, as always, Joanna takes care of us.

Behind the big Grand Complication.....  What is projected?

Here you go, if you are ever so interested smile

First, the history of Lange.....  we all know that...

Now at one corner, a young lady is exhibiting something.  Writing something.... what?

Date disc?  Blue?  For what model?  The answer will come later as you read through.

Handsome watch on her wrist....

Young watchmaker who works at the service department - his father worked for Lange, too!

Display model of the Grand Complication - huge!  The actual working piece is coming soon to Tokyo and will report back to you.

Umnnn..   If I were the lucky one, I would have to re-make all my shirts! smile

Beautiful photo on the wall and display of the current models.

Oh?  Messrs. Schmid and De Haas.

Owner group's some wrist shots.

Now, today's main event....  What's this?

Handwerkskunst #3 in my hand!

As always, beautifully done dial.....

This is the hand painted blue date disc (to match with the rest of the dial) which the young lady was painting up there.

Also, new LE of 25 PG only Langematik Saxonia.

The location of "SAX-O-MAT" has been changed.

I asked Joanna, "you made this because you found cache of forgotten Langematik movements in some old drawer or something?".  The answer was "no, we made it all new for this W&W occasion".  Of course, why not?  Sorry, Joanna!

Now, followed by the lunch hosted by Mr. Schmid.

... sitting next to me.

Attention to details..... the back of the name tag for each guest on the lunch table.

His today's watch - the "original" Lange 1 perpetual tourbillon.

A little bit big.  While wishing it were 40mm or so, I remembered that my wallet is not that deep, LOL.

And finally, the dessert.

Thank you so much!:
Lange Uhren - Mr. Wilhelm Schmid, CEO, Ms. Joanna Lange.
Lange Japan - Mr. Edmond Boussemart, CEO, and all the staff.
Lange Hong Kong and Lange Hong Kong Boutique - thank you for your hospitality.

Ken

I think that I stay with my first comments about the two novelties. Hope to see them in the metal soon. Well, I think it will be easier with the Saxonia. Fx

Great coverage Ken

Thank you Ken for a diligent and excellent report, Have you heard if all the L1 QP Handwerkskunst have been spoken for? Even if the general opinion here is divided, I imagine the orders placed would come very quickly for this LE. Best, Colton

You are right...

... but I don't think they have been all spoken for. They seemed to be taking orders just now :-) Ken

It was a pity
