langematic perpetual or PP 5040
Aug 19, 2014,23:20 PM
I have a 5040 PP rose and am considering trading it even for a yellow gold langematic perpetual. I like them both but the Lange is a watch that I have always liked and do not wear the 5040 as much as I thought I would . Does it make sense to make such a trade ?

Even because of YG or something else you have in mind? It is a tough choice as I like both watches. Both represent their brands very well and have some additional spice on top. PP 5040J on my wrist ... versus ALS Langematik Perpetual in RG on my wrist as ...

Thanks for the photos, Oliver. I agree, if formal attire is on tap most of the time, perhaps keeping the PP makes more sense, while casual dress favors the Lange (my oh my I love the matik perpetual !).

When Lange originally introduced the Perpetual, they introduced it in YG and PT. They discontinued the YG version very soon thereafter and began producing RG, which they made for much longer. There aren't a ton of YG Perpetuals out there. I always thought...

Fernando, The crispness of the dial and layout feels very balanced. I agree with both you and CR in that this Lange wears exceptionally well in YG. The patina it would take on over the course of a lifetime would be very nice. Best Colton

"The patina it would take on over the course of a lifetime would be very nice." Same as with a RL in YG and I am not a big fan of YG in general :-) Cheers, Oliver
I'm a fan of both brands. But a bigger fan of the 5040...

The Patek Philippe 240Q movement is truly a fantastic classic movement. Lange's Perpetual calendar movement is another movement that is fairly modern and easy to use, and practical. I'm a big fan of both brands. But between these two, I prefer the 5040 to...
