Elephant shoes

The backstory is that a few months ago I had inquired about a basic black alligator leather OEM strap (not hornback) to use interchangeably on my 42mm Elephant or Vampire.  But looking at the available OEM strap options, the available black straps all had some type of contrast stitching like red or white.  So I asked my SA if there is a black on black option…but when he investigated he found that indeed there is no such option.  But he then said they’d like to have one made for me…free of charge as a gift! 😮🤗 Obviously I was very grateful and happy to patiently wait till whenever the strap was ready.

Fast forward to today, the strap arrived and I took the Elephant in to try something new besides the original grey hornback strap.  Personally, while I love grey hues, I do like how this black strap and subdials counterbalance the grey dial as well as the grey of the steel bezel+case.
In the future, hopefully there will be a textured black (or grey) rubber strap for the 42mm ROOs, because those textures give the rubber character.
Thank you all for looking, and HAGWE.

Lots of black with the subdials, crown and pushers, gasket, tach etc. and the strap matches super well. No surprise AP did that for you, they really take care of their customers!

They really do, like many here have said again and again.

I would like to do something for them for the holidays, but not sure what is most appropriate. I’ll go through the previous threads to see if this had been discussed here in the past. In the meantime, I’m going with the Elephant again today. ...

beautiful combo!

I believe you also like to have a leather strap alternative to rubber, as in the case of your ROO Ghost, which is one of the best ROOs with a ceramic bezel. Thanks again.
