Experimenting with different strap combos for the Breguet Tradition 7027
Dec 03, 2023,10:07 AM
I've been of the opinion the Tradition series would be more versatile than one might think with respect to different strap options. As I mentioned in an earlier post I removed the screw bars in favour of quick release straps in order to put this to the test (we've covered the risks of doing so in that thread which are understood and accepted, lets not go over it again!). I've gotten a bunch of new straps from Delugs and been trying them out. Not all of these options are going to be to everyone's tastes but hey I'm having fun with these. I admit some of these are more successful than others.
Starting off with the loudest combo here, the cobalt blue Barenia. A very supple strap supposedly from the same tannery Hermes gets theirs. The electric blue might actually be a bit much. I do like it on my Nomos weltzeit though.
I was really quite interested in this purple alligator. I was a little fearful it might be just a bit too much but in practice the purple colour is not that wild and actually seems to suit my skin tone quite well. The result is funky but not excessive in my opinion. These pictures in good light show off the strap at its most vibrant. I think this might be one of my favourites.
Couple of more classic combos which I already posted earlier, Green and Navy gators. I had been wearing the green a lot although I meant it more for the GO Panograph when I bought it.
Pictured with some German friends, going casual with a blue Crazy Horse strap.
Light grey epsom here
This waxy green strap works unsurprisingly well after having worn the green gator. But a much more casual vibe here.
Delugs calls this the Stormy Seashore and it seems similar to Saffiano leather.
And finally the "Mudflaps" strap for a very dressed down look
For comparison, the original black strap the watch came with. Certainly a handsome but safe combination.
Hope people found this interesting at least and perhaps even provided some food for thought for the more experimentally minded among you
