No sponsor bro as explained above in Jorge's post. The idea stemmed from my immediate collecting group and was organized by a good friend (iceman - founder of the Vintage Rolex Asylum and fellow WPS)...
He is Indonesian and has organized similar events for the VRA several years ago in Bali so we thought it would be a great idea to do the same for Indie collectors and VOILÀ the birth of the first Horological Retreat 😉
There were 50 - 60 passionate collectors that flew into Bali from around the world which shows their level of passion and commitment to be with other like minded collectors / enthusiasts. Some even flew in for 1 day and several others for 2 days. Imagine flying to Bali for 1 - 2 days 🤷♂️🙊...truly shows their level of passion to be with collectors and friends.
This was by Invitation only since we had to limit the number who could attend. There were many others but we simply could not organize for more. The future HR event might be larger since there has been many requests to attend from many collectors so we will work on the logistics to make that happen.
Cannot divulge too much info but the plan is to have an HR event in Asia every 2 years following Dubai Watch Week which helps cut down the transit times and every other year, there will be one in Europe or the surrounding area.
Regardless, the purpose is to celebrate and have fun as a community of like minded collectors in a secure environment as it should be 👍🙏
Finally back after nearly 2 weeks in Magical Bali...and the 1st ever Horological Retreat for 50 - 60 passionate Indie collectors from around the world, TRULY EPIC !! Too much to upload to maybe it would be easier to see the video montage below

Wow, my wife and i would have loved to join in. Have been to Bali and know the area fairly well. RC is a lovely place to stay too. Congrats to all and great to see everyone enjoying their time

I posted earlier with photos in another thread, see below 😉 and as for the auctions, I was successful in getting the piece I wanted but the point was to help the orphans in Bali so mission accomplished 😊
