Does this influence your Daytona preference?

I realize I’m probably the only person who didn’t notice this feature before, but now it makes me rethink the choice of white vs. black dial 126 Daytona.  Specifically, the silver rings around the subdials of the new version is a notable addition on top of the silver bezel ring.  The white dial subdials don’t have any enhanced features besides being thinner, which I generally don’t like as much.

So I’m curious if this added subdial feature makes you strongly prefer the black 126 Daytona more, or is it not that significant in your eyes?

I had the zenith based Daytonas in white and black dial, and preferred it in white. It’s the only chrono I prefer in white, as I usually like black but the Daytonas are not that legible in black dial for some reason.

I see.

I still see an outer thicker ring around the last version.

It seems like it's not as shiny as the new version. ...

You’re right, Champ! I can make it out, just not as prominent.

So, I guess it’s not really an “extra” feature/touch-up like I initially thought.

Funny thing is I didn’t notice the shiny

ring until you pointed it out 😁 Thanks for that.

I actually wanted the black 126500

but my wife said it wears smaller so she got it. And I had to take the rest, a white 126500. Now I am happy with that outcome

Excellent!

The ONLY way to truly be sure...

...is to wear them all. You know, just to be sure (★‿★)

I prefer the black dial for both the 116 and the 126

For steel bezel daytonas I prefer the white dial instead

Can beggars like us who wants to get the "call" choose? :))

Just kidding....Yes we can but in this scenario, I will be happy with either and not pay that much attention to that detail.

Of all the SS ceramic bezel Daytonas, I prefer the newest, black dial one the best.

There are a number of subtle updates that I think really improve the overall look (on both the white and black dial pieces). After that, the black vs. white dial is just pure preference. John

Indeed, it is those subtle details that I’m appreciating more now (in pics).

It seems to me that those subtle details are a little more pronounced in the black dial version, to my eyes at least.

I prefer whichever Daytona I can get.

At retail of course. But I prefer white dial in the ceramic and black with SS. I think the white dial has more contrast with the ceramic models. Whereas the black dial looks great with the SS subdials and bezel. IMO, of course. ...

This black Daytona is 116520.

The new Daytonas have been revolutionized. Very nice the new ring around the ceramic. The diameter of 40mm has not changed, but the "lug to lug" has grown, so the size has also changed, the watch is more bigger. Unfortunately, the designers got the most i...
