I think these new references will have different fame

But they are definitely preparing the future, scanning the future.
When the Nautilus, the 5960 appeared for instance, it wasn't the most obvious and easy choice imho. And I even tried to imagine when the 5980 was launched in 2006 with the rest of the 30th novelties: I'm sure people said it was huge, bulky, not Patek etc....
That's why I don't agree very much when we say that a novelty has to include the brand's DNA because when a new reference is launched (Nautilus, 5960...) it is not DNA because new by definition.
But these nvoetlies have changed the course of evolution of the DNA. Thus DNA evolves.
THanks for sharing the poll, it is always interesting to have a little feedback.
I agree about the need to explore, in the past some references were really weird but we forgot them and just remember the good ones. Mistakes happen as you say.
About dial colors, I would also like to see others than black/blue/silver... That's why I liked the comeback of the slate dial in the 5396 this year (like the one from the 5960P). The 5227 line also uses egg shell colors instead of silver and I think it is nice.
But diversity is a thing I'd like to see more (even if I'm not really able to suggest a good one...). But it can be a decoration instead of color I guess (metallic sunburst, sandblasted, lacquered etc...).
We'll quite soon have an answer
Accurate obesrvation Karl.
